She is turning 100 on the 19th of this month, so I made her this card from Mum and I - can't let an amazing milestone like that go without recognition. I hope she likes it.

I'm not a card maker but really enjoyed doing this one today for a special lady. "Aunty" Joan was our across the road neighbour when I was a kid and the families were good friends.

A local business put out a call for donations for a struggling family with 4 daughters who could not afford a Christmas. I couldn't ignore that and wanted to give the girls something personal, so they each got a boxed soap and lip balm (and some other things for the parents too).
I made these sweet boxes to put them in, I love how they turned out - especially the bow on top, made using my Envelope Punch Board, as were the soap boxes. Now that's one tool I'm really glad I bought.
And a lovely side note that really put an oomph into my Christmas spirit - the business was hoping to fill 1 washing basket with things. I was thrilled to hear that the generous folks in town gave enough that 2 car loads of goodies were taken to the family on Christmas eve, and I think some cash donations as well. What a wonderful effort - and typical of the Aussie spirit of helping others.

I had fun making these for Christmas. The gandies all wanted money and the 12" bonbons on the left are the perfect length.
The envelopes on the right were for the "big kids" - my kids and their spouses, money again for a nice dinner at their favourite restaurant.
The stocking in the middle are pillow boxes that I adapted into stockings. Every year since they were small, I have given my kids a lolly stocking. This year, rather than buy commercial ones, I made my own. I love how they turned out.
